Ordering a cake or dessert need not be a complicated process. We understand you have questions. Take some time to see if any of those questions are answered below:
Is a deposit required when placing an order?
We require at least half of the total as the deposit.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express & Zelle.
How far in advance should I order a custom cake?
The earlier the better. We require a minimum of ten days.
How far in advance should I order a standard occasion cake?
The earlier the better. We require a minimum of THREE days.
Can I make changes to my cake after I order?
You can make changes a week before your delivery/pick up date. Changes can be made by calling us at 347-916-0494. You must speak with someone to confirm the change.
Refund/Exchange Policy We take pride in our desserts and cakes. If you are unhappy with your order and/or purchase, immediately notify us (within 24 hours ) of your concern We retain the right to judge our product quality for ourselves & determine the amount that can be refunded. All refunds will be provided as in-store credit.
Order Cancellation Policy Brooklyn Sweet Spot understands that plans change and we will gladly assist you in making changes to your order date and time whenever possible. We accept weekday cancellations by phone (347) 916-0494 one week before your event, you will receive 50% of your order back in the form of a store credit. All changes must be handled directly with a representative of Brooklyn Sweet Spot AND confirmed. Brooklyn Sweet Spot reserves the right to charge a cancellation fee if insufficient time is given. As stated above, costs are incurred in the purchase, priority and preparation of the order. Charges for cancellations after the above time will be as follows: 75% of the entire order will be charged for cancellations 72 hours prior to the event and 100% of the entire order will be charged for canceling the order after that time. It is entirely up to Brooklyn Sweet Spot’s discretion to change or otherwise offer any other options to the customer.
Wedding Cake Cancellation Policy
Wedding deposits are non-refundable & non-transferable (Deposit is deducted from the wedding cake balance only). Any Wedding cake orders cancelled 30 days prior to your wedding date will receive only a 50% refund on any payments made. Any Wedding cake orders cancelled less than 30 days prior to your wedding date will receive NO refunds on any payments made after the deposit.
How is a tier cake priced?
All tiered cakes are priced based on type of cake, filling, icing, decorations, structure, and toppers. Tier cakes start at $8 per serving and can go all the way up to $15 per serving.
Can I get a different cake for each tier of my cake?
You may get different cakes for each tier however it will bring the final cost up and keep in mind each tier feeds a certain amount of people and may not be equal in the end.
Do you make Styrofoam “dummy” cakes for display?
We do not do this.
If I bring you a photo of a cake can you make it?
We can not recreate cakes exactly as any photo. All cakes are works of art and each decorator is an artist, we all have our own different styles, tools, and methods of creating custom cakes. We will use any provided photos as inspiration.
Do you put edible photos on cakes?
Yes we can put photos on cakes, cupcakes & sugar cookies.
Do you do fondant covered cakes?
Yes we can cover cakes in fondant as well as fondant decorations.
What color fondant can I cover the cake with?You can do any color of the rainbow .If you have a specific color we suggest you send us a swatch.
How far in advance should I order a cake with fondant decorations?
Any orders with 3D fondant decoration must be placed at least 1 week in advance. During warm temperatures please allow at least 2-3 weeks.
Why do you need so much notice for fondant items?
Fondant figurines can not be done in one day. Over a course of a week or even more the figure has to dry so more can be added to it. We can not put an unsteady fondant figurine on a cake. All completed figurines need to dry for at least 2 days when completely finished.
Do you deliver?
Yes we do deliver most of our cakes. Delivery prices are based on mileage/tolls. Pick up is only available at our Fort Greene location.
When do I need to pay my balance?
Your order must be paid in full 2 days before your event.
Should I keep my cake refrigerated?
Most of our cakes can sit out in a cool air conditioned room for up to 3 hours any longer than that we suggest refrigeration with the exception of whipped cream cakes they should most always be kept refrigerated.
